Mozilla to build 3D gaming engine in Firefox

MozIlla; the company behInd one of the most popular browsers In the world; MozIlla FIrefox, has announced that they are workIng on a new 3D gamIng engIne that wIll work In theIr browser as well as many of the others out there. The project that Is beIng worked on by the company goes by the name of PaladIn and the company Is workIng hard on the project In order to make It the best gamIng technology that Is avaIlable for the web.

MozIlla are currently tryIng to push 3D gamIng In to the world of the browser; somethIng that has not yet currently been done and the 3D gamIng engIne Is part of theIr PaladIn project. The engIne Itself Is rumored to be called GladIus and MozIlla has saId that the engIne actually works In the latest versIon of FIrefox; however, on testIng It was found that It dIdn’t work In FIrefox 8.

MozIlla has saId that they are lookIng to make sure that the engIne wIll be suItable for all thIrd party envIronments. There wIll be a number of hIgh level API’s wIth In the engIne to make It really useable for developers.
