Barcelona seem to be in turmoil after they allowed Real Madrid to topple them at the top of the La Liga table.
The Catalans haven’t started this end of the season with the consistency that helped them keep Real Madrid on their back and they have now fallen two points behind Zinedine Zidane’s side.
Their next game is against this in-form Atletico Madrid side and it should be one of the toughest games they have played for some time.
Atletico Madrid knew they had to be perfect to earn a European place when the league season was restarted and Diego Simeone’s side has been just that.
They come into this game off the back of four consecutive wins and they have kept a clean sheet in three of those games.
Diego Simeone’s side is in-form at just the right time after not losing any of their last ten games in all competitions.
Barcelona has some fine home form with eight straight wins ahead of this game. However, the last time they played Simeone’s side in the Spanish Super Cup, the visitors beat them.
Atletico has a four points cushion over their closest rival in the Champions League placings but they won’t want to lose their current momentum in this game.
