The 2014 Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup is finally upon us and gets underway at 3:20 on Friday afternoon. 14 horses are set to battle it out for one of the biggest races in the calendar year and a £327,326 winners prize.
The full racecard, jockey/trainer combos, colours and form figures are below:
Betting Forecast: 13/8 Bobs Worth, 5/2 Silviniaco Conti, 6/1 Last Instalment, 10/1 Triolo D’alene, First Lieutenant, 14/1 The Giant Bolster, 16/1 On His Own, 25/1 Lord Windermere, 33/1 Teaforthree, Lyreen Legend, 50/1 Cloudy Too, Katenko, Knockara Beau, 66/1 Houblon Des Obeaux
Gamingtips Tip – First Lieutenant finished 2 1/2 lengths behind Bobs Worth here in 2012 and as an excellent record at Cheltenham (won the 2011 Neptune and finished second in both the 2012 RSA and the 2013 Ryanair). Form hasn’t been up to par of late but this race may be run to suit and odds of around 8/1 offer a decent each-way betting prospect. Silviniaco Conti, Last Instalment and Triolo D’Alene make up the remainder of the challenge.
