Girona were the talk of the town after the opening weekend after their impressive display against Atletico Madrid where they led one of the tightest defence in Europe 2-0 before eventually ending the game in a 2-2 draw.

Their performance was solid if not spectacular.

They surrendered their lead due to some inexperience and Malaga will be looking to take advantage and use their experience to get a point from this game at least.

However, with Christian Stauni who got their two goals against Atleti they have a striker capable of causing havoc and they will be hoping to look as deadly as always in this game.

Malaga have conceded at least 1.4 goals in all their matches last season which shows how weak at the back they are and Girona could punish them for that sloppiness if they don’t improve.

They have lost some key midfielders who helped protect their defence last season and that contributed to why they lost their opening game to Eibar.

They have won only 2 of their last 22 league games away from home and they don’t look like winning against a Girona side that is full of confidence.

They are 17th in the league table after their 1-0 loss to Eibar last week.
