Valencia vs Sevilla FC Preview

When this season began, many would have backed Sevilla to finish inside the top three easily and not many would have considered Valencia to be inside the top five but these two teams have had very different seasons to what was expected of them.

Valencia have made a stunning start to the new season and they come into this game in second position behind Barcelona despite struggling for much of last season.

Valencia are obvious favourites in this game as they have a solid home record against Sevilla even when they are struggling.

They also head into this game off the back of a run of four straight victories where they have scored 17 goals in this process.

Their goal record for this season is bested only by Barcelona.

Rodrigo and Simone Zaza have formed a lethal partnership in front of goal that has seen them score 12 goals together already this season, more than Sevilla has scored as a team.

Sevilla haven’t done so badly this season but they have not been as good as the side that Jorge Sampaoli led last season.

They have been good defensively but their 5-1 loss to Moscow in midweek shows that there is cause for alarm.

This game will be a major test for them as they had to make a long trip to and from Russia in midweek.
