Saint-Etienne vs Monaco Preview

Saint-Etienne welcome AS Monaco in desperate need of a turn around in fortunes.

They come into this game with a poor run of form that has seen them winless in their last ten games.

After 17 games, they are currently just two points above the relegation zone and a defeat in this game could send them into the dreaded relegation zone.

They had one of the best defences last season but they have been leaking goals from all angles this time around with 27 goals conceded already and just 17 scored at the other end of the pitch.

21 year old Jonathan Bamba has been helping them with goals as he has scored 5 in his last 15 games however he lacks the kind of support he needs to thrive and they will be hoping Remy Cabella can come good for them in the second half of the season.

AS Monaco are currently joint second in the league table with Marseille and Lyon who all have 35 points, nine behind leaders PSG.

Their Champions League campaign this season was a disastrous one as they finished at the bottom of their group.

With no more European commitments, they will look to catch league leaders PSG and that needs to start with a win here.

Although Monaco come into this tie as favourites, their away form has been less than impressive and they could find it difficult to break down Saint-Etienne and take all 3 points.
