Marseille no doubt have been inconsistent at some point this season as they were guilty of dropping needless points in the first half of the season but they seem to have turned a new leaf at the turn of the new year.

Their midweek win over Epinal was their sixth consecutive win in all competitions and means they have maintained their excellent start to the new year.

They are currently 3^rd in the Ligue 1 table while Lyon who are second have only 1 point more than them.

PSG are 9 points away from them but the Parisian’s loss to Lyon last time out will have renewed some hopes of them contesting for the league title again.

AS Monaco’s secret to winning the Ligue 1 and reaching the Champions League semifinals last season was their free scoring style.

However, after the sale of some of their top stars and some poor additions to their team, they have been a shadow of themselves at some points this season.

They lost their last competitive game 3-2 to Lyon as they exited the French Cup.

Although they remain unbeaten in their last 7 league games, that is only enough to keep them in 4^th place.

Monaco have only 3 wins away from home this season, and they will be looking to add to that figure in this game.
