RB Leipzig vs Marseille Preview

RB  Leipzig are having a good time in Europe this season considering the fact that it is their debut campaign.

Much-hated in Germany, they have enjoyed some growing support across the world for their talented players and style of play.

At the weekend they battled to a thrilling 3-2 win over Hannover in the league – a result that leaves them unbeaten in their last 6 games in all competitions and takes them to 4th position in the league table, just 2 points behind Borussia Dortmund.

They were eliminated from the Champions League after placing 3rd in a group that had Besiktas, FC Porto and AS Monaco.

They have now eliminated Napoli and Zenit Saint Petersburg in the Europa League to get here.

Marseille finished second in their Europa League group and they have now recorded some impressive results in the knockout stages.

They defeated Braga 3-1, then eliminated athletic Bilbao 5-2 on aggregate to get here.

They have also found some good form domestically with their 3-1 win over Dijon being their 4th win in their last five domestic games.

They have however not kept a  clean sheet since mid-February and they have conceded 15 goals in that time frame.

With these two teams struggling to keep clean sheets, this game could see a lot of goals scored by both teams and as away goals are crucial in Europe, Marseille should view this game as an opportunity to snatch an away goal or two.
