Villarreal vs Valencia Preview

Villarreal have been the better of these two teams for the better part of the last decade, however, this season has been different as Valencia are likely going to play Champions League football next term while Villarreal will be settling for the Europa League.

Villarreal do have a good record in this fixture and they will be looking to let Los Che know that in this game.

One thing that joins these two sides is Valencia manager Marcelino as he spent 2013 to 2016 at Villarreal building his young managerial career in the game.

His Valencia side need just a point to confirm their place in the top four and it will be interesting to see if they can confirm that here.

Valencia are struggling to end this season on a high as they have collected just two points from their last four games.

This means they can no longer finish any better than fourth position and they will need to play better than they did against Eibar last week to get a win here.

Villarreal are ending the season on a higher note.

This will be their third straight home game in La Liga and they have emerged victorious in the previous two, beating Leganes 2-1, then Celta Vigo 4-1.

Villarreal will be looking for a win here so they can settle in sixth position.
