Portugal vs Poland

Competition –  Nations League

Stadium – Estádio D. Alfonso Henriques

Date: 20th November 2018

Kick-off time – 19:45 GMT

Portugal’s Euro 2016 win was unable to spur them into the latter stages of Russia 2018.

They struggled but qualified for the knockout stages before being eliminated by Uruguay at the round of 16.

Portugal have had to play this competition without Cristiano Ronaldo who has decided to put his international career on hold to focus on his new club.

The absence of Ronaldo hasn’t really affected them as they have performed well in this competition so far.

Their draw against Italy on Sunday has placed them in a position to finish top of the group if they secure an expected win in this game.

Poland had a much worse World Cup outing as they were eliminated after  their first two games.

Their qualifying campaign for that competition had raised a lot of hopes that they would qualify from that group, but it wasn’t to be.

Since they came back from Russia, their form hasn’t improved much despite a change of management having taken place as well.

Poland haven’t won any of the five games they have played since the World Cup and they head into this game having collected just one point from an available nine in the Euro Nations League so far.

They have already been relegated from this group and have just pride to play for so Portugal should fancy a home win here.
