Chelsea vs Arsenal Competition – Europa League Final Stadium – Baku National Stadium Date: 29th May 2019 Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT
Chelsea and Arsenal will be looking to get their hands on the Europa League trophy here when the two side meets at the Baku National Stadium. The Blues started the reign of Maurizio Sarri well, but they hit a rough patch halfway through the season as their form became bad leading them to lose the Carabao Cup final despite taking Manchester City to penalties. Despite helping them return to the Champions League ahead of next season, Sarri remains under pressure and there is a feeling that he might get sacked if he fails to win this trophy. The Blues didn’t end the season well as they won just one of their last six games in normal time, needing penalties to see off Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League semifinal. Arsenal didn’t start the reign of Unai Emery on a bright note as the Gunners struggled early on to get to grips with the Spaniard’s methods. They eventually gained some momentum yet it was not enough for them to qualify for the Champions League next season. They have a chance to participate in the competition next season if they win this competition and they would feel that they have a good chance to do that with Unai Emery at the helm. The Spaniard is a specialist in this competition having won it for three consecutive seasons with Sevilla between 2014 and 2016. Arsenal have lost just one of their last six competitive matches against Chelsea. Bookmakers have priced Chelsea up as steady favourites to come out on top however the odds are close and Arsenal will undoubtedly have their supporters given their managers experience in this competition. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eden Hazard, Alexandre Lacazette and Gonzalo Higuain are all vying for favourtism in the first goalscorer market. This game gets underway at 20:00 BST.
