Arsenal football club have confirmed the capture of Alexis Sanchez from FC Barcelona in a deal that is believed to be around thirty two million pounds.
The Chile international underwent a medical examination at arsenals Conley training ground on 10th July and he has become the second most expensive purchase the club has ever made after the mega signing of German star Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid last season.
Sanchez scored two goals in the ongoing world cup in Brazil for his country Chile, and has impressed during his three season’s at the Catalan giants where he made 88 appearances scoring 39 times.
The gunners have beaten major clubs such as Juventus and Liverpool who were also interested in signing the talented forward.
The former Udinese star will link up with his new Arsenal team mates at the end of the month after the world cup concludes and according to Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, he is expected to make his club debut in early august when arsenal play the annual Emirates Cup.
Alexis Sanchez said that he is very happy to join Arsenal – a club that has a fantastic squad, a great manager, huge support around the World and a great Stadium in the Capital.
Alexis told the clubs website that he is looking forward to meeting his new teammates and is longing to launch his career at the north London club.
‘I will give my best to Arsenal football club and want to make all the arsenal fans happy’ Sanchez told reporters during his unveiling at the Emirates.
On the other hand, Arsene Wenger hopes that the Chile international can replicate his exemplary performance for his national team when he begins his arsenal career.
Arsene Wenger said that many people have seen in this years World Cup that Sanchez is a creative, powerful, and quality player that will add strength to Arsenal in the new season.
