FC Salzburg vs Marseille Preview

Two Red Bull sponsored teams entered European competitions this season with many people tipping RB Leipzig to be the most successful of them, however, that prediction has proved to be wrong as the Germans were knocked out in the quarterfinals by Olympique Marseille.

If the French men eliminate Salzburg here, they will become the Red Bull brands kryptonite.

The first leg didn’t go according to plan for the Austrians as Marseille were 2-0 winners after 90 minutes, but they are a team that have survived thus far because of their comeback ability and they will be confident they can still pull off a shock here.

Marseille played a 1-1 draw against Angers at the weekend to make it six games without tasting defeat for them, with four of those matches ending in victory for them.

They have also won four of their last 6 away games, however, they have only one win from their eight away games in this competition this season, losing four of those matches including their last visit to this very stadium in the group stage.

Bookmakers believe Salzburg will get the job done inside 90 minutes and it will be intersting to see how they approach this game as they only need to score 2 goals to force extra time while if Marseille score, Salzburg would need to score 4.
