Germany vs Mexico

Competition – FIFA World Cup

Stadium – Luzhniki Stadium

Date: 17th June 2018

Kick-off time – 16:00 GMT

After a poor set of games, Germany will be happy to have won their last warm up game before the World Cup.

That 2-1 win was the first time the Germans have won a game in six attempts.

The Germans may have been poor in their friendly games, but they are one of the best teams when it comes to competitive matches.

They took all 30 points from their qualifiers, scoring 43 goals in the process.

That should not surprise anybody when they have the likes of Mesut Ozil, Joshua Kimmich, Timo Werner, among others in their team.

They have some stability also in their managerial position as Joachim Low has been manager for 12 years and he has won the World Cup once as well as reaching third place in another.

Mexico are a powerhouse in Central America and many consider them second favourites to qualify from this group.

With the likes of the Dos Santos brothers, Javier Hernandez, Carlos Vela, and Jesus Corona, they boast an equally talented squad though not as talented as the Germans.

Mexico have four wins from seven games ahead of this match, and they are unbeaten in five years in the qualifiers.

They have also netted in 16 of their last 18 games and they could get another goal here.

As expected, Germany are strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game however Mexico should not be underestimated and this could be much closer than the odds suggest.

Mexico have lost three and drawn two of their last five meetings with Germany.
