Brazil vs Switzerland

Competition – FIFA World Cup

Stadium – Rostov Arena

Date: 17th June 2018

Kick-off time – 19:00 GMT

It has been a long and anxious wait for the Brazilians to avenge their humiliating exit at the World Cup four years ago.

Who could forget so soon how the German Machines destroyed the Selecao 7-1 in front of millions of Brazilians watching at home and in the stadium.

They went on to exit the 2015 and 2016 edition of the Copa America in the first knockout round.

Now the nation of Brazil is hopeful of a good performance from Neymar & Co and it starts with a game against their main group rivals, Switzerland.

The Brazilians are in high spirits ahead of this game.

They have remained unbeaten through their last 11 games, and the return of Neymar is set to boost their morale especially after he scored in his last two games.

Switzerland are not a bad side by any means.  The Swiss pushed Portugal all the way in the qualifiers and only ended up second after losing their last game to the Portuguese.

Switzerland have since recovered to win four and draw two of their last six games.

That run of results may not count for them as they face a different class of team in Brazil who have the talents of Neymar, Gabriel Jesus, and Philippe Coutinho doing the damage up front.

These teams have won one, drawn one and lost one of their last three meetings together.

The 1950 World Cup was the only time they met in a competition and it ended 2-2.
