Borussia Dortmund vs RB Leipzig Preview

Borussia Dortmund has been undergoing some transformation over the past few seasons.

Their successful period under Jurgen Klopp has long gone now and they have been trying to catch Bayern again with limited success.

Last season, they started brightly but ultimately ran into problems that forced them to hire two different managers, and in the end they managed to get a 4th place finish which was just enough to get them back into the Champions League.

They had a busy summer as well with the likes of Axel Witsel, Thomas Delaney, Marius Wolf, among others being been brought in to aid their quest to end Bayern’s dominance of the German game.

Dortmund started their campaign with a win in the German cup last week however this game should be tougher.

RB Leipzig stormed to second position in their maiden season in the German top flight two seasons ago and they even competed in the Champions League group stages last season however at the end of last season they were unable to replicate the success of their previous campaign.

However, they still broke records and one of those records was to break Borussia Dortmund’s 41 games unbeaten home record on their visit here last season.

They have also started more competitive games already this season thanks to their participation in the Europa League so their players will feel that they are even more prepared to get a result here.

RB Leipzig drew 1-1 at home to Borussia Dortmund when the two sides last met in March.

Borussia Dortmund have won one (1-0) and lost one (2-3) of the two home meetings to RB Leipzig.
