With five points separating them from each other in the La Liga table, these two teams go head to head to try and get the points that they need in their respective bids to avoid the drop.

Rayo are currently 19^th in the league table, just two points away from the safe zone and they would be keen on getting the three points in this game.

Their bid to survive the drop suffered some major setbacks recently as they come into this game having lost their last four league games on the trot.

One positive from those games is that they have all been lost by small margins so they can fix the issues here.

Girona are also not having the best of seasons as they sit not so pretty in 15^th position, just 5 points away from the relegation zone.

They don’t come here in the most consistent of form but they will look at their 2-1 triumph at the Bernabeu recently to give them confidence that they can collect all three points here as well.

Bookmakers have priced Rayo Vallecano up as slight favourites to come out on top in this match.

Christian Stuani is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game followed by Raul De Tomas.
