Chelsea vs Dynamo Kiev Competition – Europa League Stadium – Stamford Bridge Date: 7th March 2019 Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT
Chelsea will be looking to get a good first leg advantage when they welcome Ukrainians, Dynamo Kiev in this game. Maurizio Sarri has seen the pressure lifted off his shoulders a little in recent weeks after two consecutive wins in the Premier League. It all started with an impressive 0-0 draw in the Carabao Cup final against a Manchester City side that had beaten them 6-0 a few weeks prior. Their 2-1 win over Fulham in their last league game may have been narrow, but it was a good morale booster as they have been miserable in their other recent away games. Dynamo Kiev come here in fine form too as they are unbeaten in their last six games. The Ukrainians come here having won their last three games against Olympiacos, Zoroya, and Desna, so they should come here confident that they can actually get a result that would keep the tie open ahead of the return leg. The visitors have however, had a hard time winning games away from home and their manager would hope that he can get them stable defencively and leave Stamford Bridge with some pride. Bookmakers are less optimistic about the chances of Kiev as Chelsea are trading as heavy odds-on favourites to take a first leg lead to Ukraine. An away goal for Kiev would be a huge boost ahead of the second leg given how valuable they have become in recent years. Goal markets are expecting a lively game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Gonzalo Higuain, Eden Hazard and Olivier Giroud all lead the first goalscorer market.
