Paris Saint-Germain vs Manchester United Competition – Champions League Stadium – Parc des Princes Date: 6th March 2019 Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT
PSG would feel they already have one leg in the Champions League final 8 as no team has ever recovered from losing 2-0 at home in the first leg, but new records are set everyday and Manchester United will be looking to progress against all odds. The French side shocked the footballing world when they beat the Red Devils 2-0 at Old Trafford in the first leg. The Red Devils didn’t play badly but the French side had a game plan and they executed it to perfection. In this second leg, they will have the added advantage of Paul Pogba not being able to play and they should be able to make it to the last 8 as they await the return of Neymar from injury. PSG remain top of the French league with 17 points in hand and they would feel they have that competition in the bag already. It is the Champions League that has eluded them so far despite the huge financial outlay under the current owners. Manchester United are struggling with injuries in the race to finish the season inside the top four, however, their 3-2 win over Southampton at the weekend shows just how well they have been playing under new management with key players missing. Fans should PSG to come out with the mindset of finishing the game off, but Manchester United should look to salvage some pride here as well making this an interesting second leg. Bookmakers have priced PSG up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this second leg and progress to the final 8 of the competition. Goal markets suggest there could be goals as over 2.5 goals is trading odds-on while Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe are favourites to score the opening goal of the game.
