FC Porto vs AS Roma Competition – Champions League Stadium – Estadio do Dragao Date: 6th March 2019 Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT
AS Roma will be looking to keep their 2-1 lead in tact at the very least when they visit Porto for the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash. The Italians struggled to earn that win in the first leg and their most recent result won’t have left their fans with much confidence of them winning this game. Roma have struggled for consistency this season. After their first leg win, they managed to win two games against Frosinone and Bologna but they were thrashed 3-0 by city rivals SS Lazio in their last game and that wouldn’t have done their confidence a world of good ahead of this game. FC Porto had looked on course to retain the Portuguese league title they won last season, but that has all changed now as a resurgent Benfica side beat them at home last weekend to take over the top of the Portuguese league table. They haven’t done too badly since the first leg of this match after beating Setubal, Tondela, and Braga, but the Champions League is a different ball game and it will be interesting to see how they respond here. With both teams coming into this game off the back of loses it could be a very open game as they will both be looking to get back to winning ways. FC Porto come into this game behind 2:1 on aggregate however a 1:0 win here would see them progress to the last 8 so it will be very interesting to see what tactics they adopt from the off. Bookmakers have priced FC Porto up as steady favourites to come out on top in this second leg while goal markets expect goals as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on. Moussa Marega, Francisco Tiquinho Soares and Edin Dzeko all lead the first goalscorer market.
