Real Madrid vs Celta Vigo Preview

Zinedine Zidane will be starting his return to the Bernabeu as the manager of Real Madrid in this game and the home fans should be very positive of a solid start from their team in this game.

Los Blancos have had an underwhelming season that has seen them exit the Champions League, Copa del Rey and fallen 12 points short of their rivals Barcelona in the race for the title.

It was smart for the club’s hierarchy to end the expensive experiment with former youth team manager, Santiago Solari and name Zinedine Zidane as manager again.  They will now be looking to at least finish behind Barcelona.

Celta Vigo are set to drop down divisions in the Spanish game if their form doesn’t drastically improve at this stage of the season.

They have been a stable team in La Liga over the last few seasons but this season has been as tough as it can get and they come into this game having collected just 25 points all season and in 18^th position.

However, the close nature of things at the bottom of La Liga table means that they can go to 16^th in the league table with a win here if other results go their way, but that seems like an almost mission impossible.

A defeat for them and a win for Rayo Vallencano would see them fall down to 19^th position as well which is frightening for Vigo fans.

Bookmakers have priced Real Madrid up as heavy odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game while goal markets point to a high-scoring game as over 3.5 goals is currently trading odds-on.

Karim Benzema is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
