Manchester United vs Chelsea Preview

Manchester United welcome another top Premier League side and one of the teams who is battling for the last two Champions League spots in this game.

The Red Devils have now lost 5 of their last 6 competitive games and haven’t scored a goal or won any of their last three competitive matches.

They were expected to recover from a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Everton at the weekend when they hosted Manchester City in midweek, but it ended up being yet another uninspiring performance as they were beaten 2-0 by the Cityzens.

There is a feeling that the wheels have begun to come off for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and this game might be the last chance saloon for them to leapfrog their top four rivals as there are just two games left after this fixture.

Chelsea have also been struggling to put a series of wins together which has left them also at risk of only playing Europa League football next season.

The Blues only managed a 2-2 draw against Burnley at home in their last league game with their manager getting sent off out of frustration.

They have now failed to win their last two Premier League games and they would be desperate for the points here even though they have won just a handful of their away games this season.

This is the closest betting market of the week as both teams are deadlocked and cannot be separated by bookmakers at present.  A tiny amount of cash would see either side go off as favourites however at present nothing separates them (2.70 – 3.50 – 2.70).

Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Gonzalo Higuain, Marcus Rashford and Olivier Giroud are all vying for favourtism in the first goalscorer market in what looks a tight game on paper.

Goal markets point to a low-scoring game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on.
