Tunisia vs Nigeria Preview

 Nigeria will be looking to end their African Cup of Nations campaign by taking home the bronze as a form of consolation to the 200 million+ Nigerians back home.The Nigerians have been getting better as the competition progressed but they failed their biggest test yet when they were beaten 2-1 by Algeria in the semifinals last week.

Having been eliminated by a North African side in the semifinals, Nigeria will be looking for vengeance in this game and they will also want to avenge their semifinal defeat at the hands of this opponent at the 2004 AFCON.

Tunisia would feel that they have done more than enough for a nation that no one really gave a chance to before the competition.

They didn’t start the competition on a good note and they only reached this round because they avoided defeat in all of their group games winning none.

As a matter of fact, Tunisia has only won a single match in normal time in this competition so far and that came in an expected 3-0 win over Madagascar in the quarterfinals.

Both of these sides might want to give some players an opportunity to take to the field here but expect all concerned to be playing for some pride.

Bookmakers have priced Nigeria up as slight favourites to come out on top in this game while Tunisia will start the game as underdogs.

Goal markets point to a low-scoring game as under 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on prior to kick-off while Ebere Paul Onuachu and Odion Jude Ighalo are vying for favourtism in the first goalscorer market.
