Arsenal vs Bayern Munich

Competition – International Champions Cup

Stadium – Dignity Health Sports Park

Date: 17th July 2019

Kick-off time – 04:00 BST (18th July)

Arsenal kick off their International Champions Cup campaign with this game against Bayern Munich as Unai Emery looks to build some momentum into his side. The Gunners have been left with limited funds and while other teams have been strengthening their squad with some of the best players in Europe, the Gunners have been struggling to keep hold of their captain who appears to want out of thet Emirates stadium.

Unai Emery’s side began their pre-season with a win over the Colorado Rapids.  The Spaniard would have been impressed by the performances of his young players with all 3 goal scorers youngsters including new signing Gabriel Martinelli.

The Gunners will take on Fiorentina and Real Madrid in their next matches and they would be keen to get off to a good start in this game.

Bayern Munich haven’t had the busiest of summers either, but it can easily be argued that the German Champions still have the strongest  squad in the German top flight.

They are in a better position than the Gunners as they are willing to splash the cash as they look to replace Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery who have both left them after years playing on opposite wings.

Lucas Hernandez has completed his transfer to the Bavarians and their fans would be eager to see what he can offer against top quality opposition if he is selected to play in this game.

Bookmakers have priced Bayern Munich up as odds-on favourites to come out on top in this friendly game.

Goal markets point to a lively game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on prior to kick-off so expect an exciting friendly in the International Champions Cup.
