Krasnodar vs Olympiakos Preview

Krasnodar have it all to do when they face Olympiakos in this second leg of their Champions League group stage playoff.

Having survived a first leg 1-0 loss to eliminate FC Porto in the last round, the Russians need a miracle to be able to overturn their 4-0 loss in the first leg here and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Krasnodar were looking to boost their morale when they hosted Lokomotiv Moscow at the weekend, but the game ended in a 1-1 draw and leaves them without any winning momentum ahead of this game.

Olympiakos have been very effective in dispatching their game plan on the field of play so far.  After beating Krasnodar 4-0 in the first leg, they followed that up with a 1-0 win over Asteras Tripolis in their league opener.

They have proved to be too tough at the back and come here having won 6 of their last seven games and keeping a clean sheet in every one of those games.

Their fans would feel they are already in the group stage after such a comprehensive first-leg win, but Krasnodar is a team that can’t be underrated when they play at home.

Bookmakers have priced Krasnodar up as steady favourites to come out on top in this game however their odds to progress are extremely large after their 4:0 defeat in the first leg.
