Internazionale vs Lecce Preview

Inter Milan will begin their league campaign with this home game against Lecce and Antonio Conte would be hopeful that his new look side can get off to the best possible start.

Despite finishing inside the top four in back-to-back seasons, Inter still fired Luciano Spalletti last summer and named former Chelsea and Juventus boss, Antonio Conte as their new manager.

Their hope is that the former Juve captain who has won both the Serie A and Premier League can win them yet another Scudetto.  They have managed to equip him with some of his summer targets, most importantly Romelu Lukaku and it will be interesting to see if he partners the Belgian with Mauro Icardi or drop the Argentinean to the bench.

Lecce are making a return to the Italian top flight this season after a while in the lower rungs of Italian football.  This game is one of the toughest welcomes any team can get and their fans can only hope that their team don’t get mauled.

They come here in fine form as they have won 4 of their last 5 games, scoring 17 goals and conceding just 4.  While those opponents are not of the same quality as Inter, those wins should be a major boost to their morale ahead of this game.

Bookmakers have priced Inter Milan up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game while Lecce seemingly need a miracle in order to win.

Goal markets point to a lively game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Mauro Icardi is clear favourite to score the opening goal of the game.
