Newcastle United vs Everton Preview

Newcastle play host to Carlo Ancelotti on his first away league game as Everton’s manager when the Toffees come to town for this game.

The Magpies lost their last league game 4-1 at Manchester United, but they have generally been in fine form as they have won three of their last five league games.

Everton put their bad form behind them to beat Burnley 1-0 over the weekend.  That was a welcome relief for a Toffees side who has been under three managers already and Ancelotti will now look to build on that.

Newcastle’s success this season has been built on their fine home form – they are unbeaten in their last eight home league games, four of which have been wins for them while they have won their last two home games on the trot.

Everton struggle more when they travel as the Toffees have won one and lost three of their last five away league games.

The visitors have also won one and lost six of their last eight away games in the league this season.

Newcastle won the last head-to-head between these teams, but Everton have won three of the last five renewals between them making this an interesting game on paper.
