Four reasons Alexis Sanchez can succeed at Arsenal

After spending three seasons at Barcelona, Alexis Sánchez has made the switch to Arsenal for a reported fee of around £30 million. Although his talent was there for all to see, Sánchez was always a peripheral player with the likes of Messi, Neymar and co in front of him in the Barcelona pecking order. Here are four reasons he can succeed at Arsenal.

Less competition for places
His versatility on the front line will allow him to play as the lone forward or out wide. Arsenal currently have one consistent striker in the form of Olivier Giroud. This will allow Sánchez to slot right into the first team either as replacement for or along side Giroud. This will result in him having more playing time than when he was at Barcelona; just what he needs to get going.

A strong midfield
Arsenal has one of the best midfields in the Barclays Premier League. Feeding off a supply of quality passes from the likes of Ozil and Ramsey, Sánchez will have lots of opportunities to put the ball into the back of the net.

Arsène Wenger
Although he has been critisized for his tactics and refusal to pay top dollar to bring in quality players, Arsène Wenger is undoubtedly a great manager. He has developed and brought out the best in players time and again, Sánchez will not be the exception. Wenger also appears to be more willing to spend cash on top talent these days, a positive move.

The fans and the city
Never underestimate the power and influence that fans have on players. Early signs are positive that Sánchez will have the full support of the Arsenal fan base. No player likes to be berated by fans. Sánchez had the option of going to Liverpool but opted for Arsenal instead, partly due the allure of London no doubt. Having the support of the fans and the right lifestyle will help him to settle, focus and fulfill his potential.
