Angola meet Burkina Faso this Wednesday afternoon at 17:00 GMT+1 in their second match in Group C in the African Cup of Nations.
Angola started their qualifying off with a loss at the hands of Gabon (1:0) – they must win today against Burkina Faso to give them a solid chance of qualifying.
Burkina Faso opened their campaign up with a 2:0 victory over Lesotho. A win for them tonight will give them a very good chance of progressing further in the competition.
Angola’s form on paper is actually rather good – they have lost just 6 of their last 25 matches (including friendlies) and although a lot of their matches have been against lower-level opposition, they have shown they have some potential to play as a good team.
Burkina Faso have lost 8 of their last 24 games however they have some very good form in their history such as wins over Ghana and Algeria.
Ultimately this should be a very close game – bookmakers side with Angola being the home side and it won’t be surprising if this game is decided by a single goal given both sides history of low-scoring matches.
