Lech Poznan vs FC Basel Preview

Lech Poznan take on FC Basel at the INEA Stadion this Wednesday evening in the third round qualifying of the Champions League.

Both sides come into this tie in good form with their domestic seasons ongoing throughout the summer.

Lech Poznan have won 5 of their last 6 – they beat Sarajevo 3:0 on aggregate in the second round of qualifying for the Champions League in July.

Basel come into this tie off the back of 2 decent wins in the Swiss Super League.

Basel made it through to the knockout stages of the Champions League last season however after a 1:1 draw in the first leg at home, they were outclassed by Porto in the away leg and lost the tie 5:1 on aggregate.

FC Basel are slight favourites to come out on top in tie.  They are trading at odds of 8/5, the draw is 9/4 and Lech Poznan are currently 17/10.

As the betting odds suggest, this match could go either way – Basel do have a lot more experience than Poznan in the Champions League and although they are the stronger team on paper, Poznan is a very difficult place to travel and play and the betting odds reflect this.
