Sparta Prague meet CSKA Moscow at the Generali Arena this Wednesday afternoon in the second leg of their third round qualifier in the Champions League.
The first leg finished 2:2 at the Arena Khimki. CSKA took an early lead in the 14th minute thanks to Alan Dzagoev – Sparta fired back instantly in the 15th minute with a goal from Mario Holek. CSKA took the lead again in the 53rd minute thanks to a goal from Zoran Tosic however Sparta Prague struck back just 4 minutes later through Ladislav Krejci.
Bookmakers made CSKA strong odds-on favourites to win the first leg however after a resilient performance by Sparta Prague, bookmakers cannot separate the two sides.
Both teams are currently priced at 13/8 to come out on top in this tie while the draw is 23/10.
Ultimately this game is a toss-up. On one hand CSKA are a better side overall – they have much more experience in the Champions League than Sparta Prague and could show their overall quality in a difficult stadium.
Sparta showed great determination in the first leg and with two away goals and home advantage, they could be a difficult side to defeat.
