After a dismal Euro 2016, Turkey were hoping to redeem themselves by qualifying for next year’s World Cup in Russia but that is looking unlikely at the moment after their 2-0 loss to fellow contenders Ukraine last weekend – a result that has put them under immense pressure heading into the remaining three games.
The Turks currently sit 4th in the league table, five points behind their visitors who top the group and 4 off Ukraine who are second and they also trail the increasingly impressive Iceland.
They have to win this game if they want to stand any chance of making it to next years World Cup in Russia.
Croatia have a day less of rest than their opponents in this game after their suspended game with Kosovo was played on Sunday.
Although they won that game by a narrow 1-0 margin, they showed signs of some bad form.
They showed they could be vulnerable in their 1-0 loss against Iceland and 3-0 loss to friendly loss to Estonia.
They need to be at their best in this match or they could lose their place at the top of the table.
