Tottenham have risen to the top of English football over the past few seasons but there are still issues left for them to iron out. The Lilywhites have yet to make themselves a force in Europe – they are yet to win more than a game at their new home Wembley and they are yet to pick up a trophy under the leadership of the Argentine. They won only 2 of their group games in the Champions League last season and beginning this season’s campaign against a Dortmund side that has not lost a competitive fixture since April will be a tough game for them. They have done well away from home this season but the curse of Wembley seems to still be operative over them as they have earned just one point out of a possible 6 in their two home matches so far. Borussia Dortmund have performed very well under the stewardship of former Ajax boss Peter Bosz who replaced Thomas Tuchel this summer. Their decision to appoint the Dutch man boils down to his great job bringing through youngsters at the former Dutch champions. They have picked up 7 points from a possible 9 in the Bundesliga so far this season with comfortable wins over Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin. They have a good opportunity to win this game if Tottenham’s Wembley struggles continue. Results of each team’s last 5 matches across all leagues and competitions Shakhtar Donetsk Napoli
