VfB Stuttgart vs Borussia Dortmund Preview

Coming from the Bundesliga 2, Stuttgart were not expected to have a simple ride in the top flight.

With 13 points after 11 games, they should be content to not be inside the relegation zone just yet.

They are currently five points off the relegation zone and are the only team in the league who have earned all their points at home.

Stuttgart have not beaten Dortmund in seven years and lost 3-0 the last time they met in April 2016.

At the beginning of the season, it looked as though Borussia Dortmund would finally be winning the title again.

They started with five straight wins and clean sheets; however, things have turned very bad by the time the last international window came around.

They lost to Bayern Munich (3-1), RB Leipzig (3-2), Hannover 96 (4-2) and drew at Eintracht Frankfurt (2-2) domestically before failing to beat Apoel in two matches (both ended 1-1).

Despite their poor form, Dortmund’s front line of Pulisic, Yarmalenko, Kagawa and Aubameyang remain one of the most potent in the league and they only need a good defence to complement their efforts.

Aubameyang already has 10 goals in 11 games and he will be looking to increase that goal tally here.
