Bayer Leverkusen vs Bayern Munich Preview

This is one of the grandest ways for the Bundesliga to resume from its winter break.

Bayer Leverkusen have the luxury of selecting from an injury free squad as they look to keep their stunning season form intact.

The only major decision for their manager Hieko Herrlich would be how to set up his side to play against this rampaging Bayern team.

If he plays Kai Kravetz, he will be choosing to go all out attacking but he can also decide to not play on the front-foot and start Benjamin Henrichs instead.

They are currently unbeaten in 12 games – the longest run maintained by any German side this season but their defence is not as solid as their attack and the likes of Lewandoski could punish them in this game.

Bayern Munich travel to in-form Leverkusen hoping to complete what they started in the first half of the league season.

They have a few injury worries themselves but their squad depth means they will hardly be affected by these injury absentees.

The Bavarians have also added Sandro Wagner from Hoffenheim to their team this month and he brings another dimension to their play when he comes off the bench for Robert Lewandoski.

Bayern Munich have won more than 60% of their away games this season but they visit a Leverkusen team who are yet to lose at home this season.

Munich won the last meeting against Leverkusen 3-1 at home last August.
