Chelsea have had a very poor season for defending Champions and the Blues would be looking to end it with an FA Cup which would be a major achievement for Antonio Conte’s men who may not end the season inside the top four.
The Blues lost Diego Costa from their title winning squad and were always going to struggle for goals after signing Alvaro Morata who previously had no experience playing in the Premier League.
They beat Burnley in midweek 2-1 which is an impressive result considering how good Sean Dyche’s men have been recently. That win followed another dramatic 3-2 win over Southampton last weekend after they had gone 2 goals down initially.
The blues will undoubtedly be confident after those two victories heading into this game.
Southampton ended their three-game losing streak by drawing against Leicester City on Thursday, but the Saints still have a four points deficit on survival and their fans would want them to focus their energy on Premier League survival.
Their major problem this season seems to be their defence as they have conceded at least 3 goals in four of their last six games.
Their opponents do not fair much better as Chelsea have not kept a clean sheet in their last ten games.
