Peru have enjoyed some ups and some downs in the build up to this competition.
After qualifying for their first World Cup in over 30 years, their captain Paolo Guerrero was banned from competing for doping related offences.
Other players rallied around and his ban he is no longer suspended.
He marked his return with a brace as they beat Saudi Arabia 3-0 – that result means they come into this competition in impressive form as they have not lost any of their last 15 games and this will be the biggest five weeks of their lives.
This game will be key in deciding who goes through to the second round with France so the Peruvians need to do all they can to start with a win here.
Denmark are also a top class team. They beat Mexico 2-0 in their last warm up game. That result means they have lost two, won seven and drew seven of their last 16 games.
They beat The Republic of Ireland in the playoff after coming 2nd in their qualification group and the likes of Andreas Christensen, Christian Eriksen and Nicolai Jorgensen will be looking to impress in this competition.
Peru kept just one single clean sheet in their last 11 games, while they scored in all but two of those games.
Denmark also scored in 8 of their 10 games, and conceded just six goals.
