Tunisia vs England Preview

This is probably the most under-hyped English team heading into a major competition and four years on from their humiliating loss to Iceland at Euro 2016, a team that brings hope with less expectation is heading to the World Cup for the Premier League owners.

Tunisia however, are not a team that fear any opponent and they will certainly be tricky for the English men.

Tunisia showed in their last warm up game that they can soak up pressure as they almost held Spain to a goalless draw before Iago Aspas rescued the Spaniards in the dying minutes.

As a matter of fact, their loss to Spain was the first time the Tunisians tasted defeat in over a year – they have won five and drawn four in that period of time.

They were also unbeaten in the qualifiers, so England will be doing themselves a world of good by showing enough respect to the North Africans.

England seem well prepared for this competition though and Gareth Southgate has done a good job of teaching the team how to keep things tight at the back.

They showed they can hold off temas by the way they defeated Costa Rica and Nigeria and their fans would be hoping they can bring that pre-tournament form with them to the World Cup.

England are favourites to win their opening group game however the Africans pose a real threat and it will certainly not be easy.
