Brazil vs Belgium Preview

Brazil vs Belgium

Competition – FIFA World Cup

Stadium – Kazan Arena

Date: 6th July 2018

Kick-off time – 19:00 GMT

This is arguably the biggest match of the quarterfinal bracket as Roberto Martinez takes his very impressive Belgians out to try and stop Neymar and Co.

Brazil, like most favourites, started their World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Switzerland.

They followed that game up with a hard fought 2-0 win over Costa Rica with all the goals in that game coming after 90 minutes.

Their last match against Serbia was another tricky match against a very good European side, and they won the game 2-0 eventually.

Brazil faced Mexico in the Round of 16 in a game that was unpredictable given how impressive the Central Americans have been.

Brazil took the lead through Neymar on the 51st minute before Roberto Firmino scored another on the 88th minute after coming off the bench to setup this match.

Belgium survived a major scare in the round of 16 before setting up this clash.

The Belgians started their campaign with an impressive 3-0 win over Panama, before beating Tunisia 5-2.

They played fellow favourites England in their last group game and emerged victorious by a solitary goal to top their group.

Their round of 16 match against Japan was as tough as it gets.

The Belgians were 2-0 down by the 52nd minute and had a mountain to climb.

Credit to them as they did climb that mountain to win the game 3-2 thanks to a 94th minute winner from Nacer Chadli whose introduction changed the game.

This game features two top attacking teams and at the end of the day it may come down to who can defend better.

Brazil are current favourites to win the tournament outright so it isn’t surprising that they are favourites to come out on top in this tie.

Beligum will have their supporters and could be the value bet given that Brazil are generally favourites for every World Cup regardless of how strong their squad is.
