This is arguably the biggest game of the Premier League’s opening weekend as Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City visit the Emirates Stadium to begin their defence of the Premier League title.
The Gunners are starting a new era under Unai Emery after Arsene Wenger’s 22 years reign came to an end last season.
Arsenal will be looking to make a good start even if they are not favourites to win the title this season.
They have looked good under the former Sevilla boss in pre-season.
The Gunners lost on penalties to Atletico Madrid before thrashing a second string PSG side 5-1.
They ended their preseason with a 2-0 win over Lazio so there is optimism in their camp.
The Gunners have also added some good players like Bernd Leno, Sokratis and Lucas Toreira to their side to help their defensive game, while the likes of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang who netted 10 times in just 13 games last season will be leading them from the front.
Manchester City come into this new season having broken almost all the English records last time out and Guardiola will be expecting his players to be ready to go even further this season.
City have had a summer of no departures so they can get some consistency, while the signing of Riyad Mahrez is surely going to help bolster an already impressive attacking lineup.
City won all but three of their away matches last season, so they will be looking to start on that note while Arsenal should be prepared to stop them.
Bookmakers favour Manchester City in this tie.
