This La Liga clash brings together two teams who overachieved last season as they both finished inside the top half when we all expected them to struggle with relegation.
Last season’s achievement has only created higher expectations for this season and because of that they have both started on the wrong foot by losing their first match of the season.
Getafe played Real Madrid last weekend and although they made many summer signings, they stuck with the same players and tactical approach that helped them last season, but they still lost the game 2-0 which was expected.
Eibar on the other hand had an easier fixture when they hosted relegation favourites Huesca however they fluffed their lines and ended up 2-1 losers – that was the worst possible way to start a season that holds so much promise for them so they will be eager to get their first points here.
While Getafe added to their squad, Eibar sold some key players including their skipper from last season Daniel Garcia who was missed sorely in their first league game.
Getafe finished last season with the 3rd best defensive record, and although they haven’t started this season well, a home win should not be a big ask from their fans in this game.
Bookmakers favour Getafe at home in this tie however odds are close and suggest Eibar are in with a real shout.
