It is a new season, under a new manager, yet it feels like the same old Arsenal, and you can’t help but feel that it will take a lot longer than we all thought to banish the ghost of Wenger’s final mediocre years at the helm.

The Gunners looked to have taken Unai Emery’s style of play into their heads in pre-season, but they haven’t translated that form to the main war-front.

Two games against their fellow top four rivals have ended in two losses and Emery has become one of the favourites to get the sack this year.

Another failure to get all three points in this game would see the odds in favour of his sacking slashed further.

After two games Arsenal have scored 2, conceded 5 and collected no points.

Things aren’t so different for West Ham at the moment.

The Hammers invested around £100 million in their playing staff this summer but their attempt to play attacking football as an elite team has been nothing but a disaster so far.

It was understandable when they were beaten 4-0 by Liverpool at Anfield in their first league game, however losing 2-1 from a winning position against Bournemouth at home last weekend goes to show you that the earlier they return to a more traditional approach, the better for them.

With the likes of Jack Wilshere, Marko Arnautovic, and Felipe Anderson, West Ham seem to have enough quality to match the Gunners however these players have failed to kick on and play together as a team.

Three of the last four Premier League meetings between the sides have seen Arsenal win by at least a three goal margin.

Arsenal are heavy favourites with bookmakers to get their first win of the season however this could be a very cagey affair against a fellow London side.
