After their hard fought 1-1 draw in the Lisbon derby at the weekend, Benfica now turn their attention to this Champions League game as they look to reach the next round.
Benfica are on the verge of missing the Champions League group stage and the £35 million windfall that comes with it, after they drew 1-1 with PAOK in the first leg.
Their 1-1 draw in the league on Saturday means they remain unbeaten in their local league and they have also not lost a game in the Champions League this season after eliminating Fenerbahce in the last round however this is their biggest task yet.
This has been a good summer for Greek clubs and PAOK will be looking to join AEK who already have one foot in the group stage to fly their country’s flag in the competition this season.
Olympiacos are also on the verge of reaching the Europa League group stage.
PAOK’s 1-1 draw in Lisbon a fortnight ago would have given them confidence that they can see out this game, and their record of just 3 losses in their last 13 Champions League game could see them scrape through here, but it is still an open game.
Benfica have lost just once in five meetings with PAOK.
