This is easily the biggest game of the weekend in the Premier League as Liverpool and Tottenham go head to head in a game that could decide if the Reds will remain top of the Premier League table by Monday.
Tottenham had made a perfect start to the season when they visited Watford before the international break however Watford had the same 3/3 record and ended up defeating Tottenham.
When Spurs took the lead via an own goal in the second half, it looked like Mauricio Pochettino’s men would be leaving Vicarage Road with three points but the Hornets fought back and won the game leaving Spurs with three wins and a loss from their opening four games.
This game offers the Lilywhites a chance to get back to winning ways however Liverpool are league leaders and their performances this season have been quite impressive thus far.
While the Reds haven’t been scoring as many as much of last season, their 1-0 win over Brighton and 2-1 win at Leicester are games that Liverpool would have drawn in previous seasons so they are gradually improving their game management.
The Reds come into this game with 4 wins from as many games and three clean sheets – but for an error from Allison in their last game, they would still be boasting a 4/4 clean sheet record.
Tottenham have made Wembley some sort of fortress so it should be a tough game for the Reds. Only Manchester City and Chelsea defeated Tottenham at Wembley last season, and the last time Liverpool visited this ground the Reds were swept aside 4-1.
Liverpool have only failed to score in one of their last 12 Premier League meetings with Spurs – a 0-0 draw in Jurgen Klopp’s first game in charge of the Reds in October 2015.
Bookmakers have priced Liverpool up as early favourites for this match however the odds are extremely close and Tottenham will no doubt have their supporters.
Goal markets suggest this game will be lively as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on.
