AC Milan vs Napoli Preview

AC Milan vs Napoli

Competition – Serie A

Stadium – Stadio Giuseppe Meazza

Date: 26th January 2019

Kick-off time – 19:30 GMT

Milan host Napoli in this Serie A clash as they look to remain in the hunt for a top four place come the end of the season.

These sides meet again in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals just a few days from now and Milan will be hoping to earn some early bragging rights before that clash.

Gennaro Gattuso’s men come into this game having won 3 of their last 4 games in all competitions and only a narrow 1-0 loss to Juventus at the Italian Super Cup has stopped them from getting a win recently, so they will look to halt Napoli’s charge towards the title.

Napoli come into this game 9 points behind Juventus in the race for the Italian Scudetto.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have been the most consistent competitor to Juve in recent seasons and come here after winning against Bologna, Sassuolo, and Lazio all at home.

Napoli will be looking to earn another win here and hope that Juve drops points this weekend.

The visitors have, however, struggled when they play away from home and that could still be the case here.

They have been beaten by Liverpool and Inter Milan, and only won 1-0 at Cagliari since the end of last year.

This contest has been a close one in recent seasons as Napoli have two wins and a draw from their last 3 head to head clashes but both teams have scored in the wins.

Bookmakers have priced Napoli up as favourites to come out on top in this game.

Dries Mertens is clear favourite with bookies to score the opening goal of the game.
