Barcelona vs Sevilla FC Preview

Barcelona will be looking to make progress in one of the trophies they hope to win when they take on Sevilla in the return leg of this Copa del Rey tie.

The first leg ended in a 2-0 win for the Seville based side after Barcelona rested most of their top stars.

In the last round, the Catalans had done the same thing and were beaten 2-1 by Levante, however, they turned it around in the second leg with a 3-0 win.

They have no away goal this time around, but we expect them to field a strong team.  A Sevilla goal would have them needing to score 4 goals to progress.

These two teams met in the final of this competition last season with Barcelona hammering Sevilla 5-0 to win the trophy.

This should be a considerably harder game for Barcelona and they are expected to pull through by fans and oddsmakers alike.

Having not conceded a goal in the first leg, expect Sevilla to adopt a more positive game plan here and try to hurt Barcelona.

The visitors were beaten by Barca the last time they visited Camp Nou however they scored in a 4-2 loss and a similar score line would send them through.

Barcelona may try their best to keep things tight at the back and allow Lionel Messi to help lead their attack to scoring the needed goals.

Barcelona haven’t lost any of their last 14 home games against Sevilla and they have won the last five meetings at the Camp Nou.

Bookmakers have priced Barcelona up as strong odds-on favourites to come out on top in this tie.

Goal markets suggest this will be a thrilling game as over 3.5 goals is currently trading odds-on.

Lionel Messi is clear favourite with bookies to score the opening goal of the game.
