Borussia Dortmund vs Tottenham Hotspur Competition – Champions League Stadium – Signal-Iduna-Park Date: 5th March 2019 Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT
Tottenham will be looking to put their dismal run of form in the Premier League behind them as they head to Germany for the return leg of their Champions League round of 16 match. The Lillywhites put on a poor performance at the weekend again and only a penalty from Pierre Emerick Aubameyang at the death stopped them from losing their third straight game. They have lost out in the race for the Premier League title and they now look to make progress in Europe here. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have a 3-0 goal advantage from the first leg and they will be looking to keep that in tact for much of the game when they take to the field here. Borussia Dortmund have topped the German top flight for much of this season, but they have seen their points lead cut over the weekend after they were surprisingly beaten at Augsburg. They top the German league on goal difference at the moment and they are faced with the task of coming back to eliminate Tottenham in this fixture. The home side will do well to win this game outright but if they can stage a comeback, it would be an amazing achievement. Bookmakers have priced Borussia Dortmund up as very slight odds-on favourites to come out on top in this second leg while goal markets are fairly certain we will see goals as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on. Paco Alcacer is clear favourite with bookies to score the opening goal of the game followed by Harry Kane and Marco Reus.
