Leicester City vs Newcastle United
Competition – Barclays Premier League
Stadium – King Power Stadium
Date: 12th April 2019
Kick-off time – 20:00 GMT
When Brendan Rodgers swapped Celtic for Leicester City in midseason, we all expected him to make an impact and the former Liverpool manager has so far not let us down.
The Foxes are set to win their 5th game on the spin when they welcome Newcastle to the King Power Stadium for this game.
What their fans have been clamouring for has been a return to European football after their participation in the 2016/2017 Champions League.
They are on course to end this season in 7th position and they will hope that Watford doesn’t win the FA Cup as that would make the 7th position ineligible for the Europa League.
Newcastle are 5 points away from the magic 40 points teams need to stay up however they don’t look like a team that could be relegated this season at all.
The Magpies have had an upturn in form and have put together some impressive results during this half of the season that could see them challenge Leicester City for the points in this game.
Newcastle haven’t won any of their last three games and their away form has been even more dreadful with no wins and five losses from their last 8 games on the road.
Rafa Benitez has proven to be a sound tactician and it will be interesting to see if he can undo Rodgers in this game.
Bookmakers have priced Leicester up as slight odds-on favourites to come out on top while Newcastle are expected to struggle on the road once again.
Goal markets point to a lively game over 1.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Jamie Vardy is clear favourites to score the opening goal of the game.
