Zinedine Zidane will be looking for a response from his players when they take on relegation-threatened Villarreal in this game.
They have been inconsistent all season and come here with no wins from their last two games even though they played against the likes of Getafe and Rayo Vallecano, losing 1-0 to the latter.
Real Madrid have secured 3rd spot for next season ahead of a summer that seems to be pregnant with great changes in terms of personnel; however, they would be keen on ending the season well and closer to Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.
They are currently 9 points behind Atleti and can’t finish above their current position however Villarreal may feel they still have something to play for so they should be the more serious of both teams.
Villarreal come into this game 14th in the league table having secured their top flight status for another season with 40 points already collected.
They have struggled in the league for much of the season and they may see their exit from the Europa League as a blessing in disguise.
The Yellow Submarines come here having not lost any of their last 5 league games, with 3 ending in wins for them and they should be motivated to inflict a second defeat in as many games on Real Madrid.
Bookmakers have priced Real Madrid up as odds-on favourites to come out on top in this game however the odds are relatively close and oddsmakers are giving Villarreal a real chance.
Goal markets point to a lively match as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on while Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale head the first goalscorer market.
