Arsenal vs Tottenham Hotspur Preview

Arsenal and Tottenham resume their rivalry early this season as the Gunners host the Lilywhites in the first North London derby of the season.

Arsenal come into this game after losing 3-1 at Anfield to lose their perfect start to the season.  Unai Emery’s side have nevertheless had a good start to the season and they will look to continue it here.

Against a side like Liverpool, the Gunners stood a slim chance of making a good impression with the likes of Dani Ceballos being overrun by Liverpool’s marathon men.  The Spaniard made a good start to his Gunners career and their fans would hope that he can resume normal service in this game.

Tottenham have become the dominant side from North London in recent seasons as they have qualified for the last three Champions League with the Gunners settling for the Europa League.

The Lilywhites also reached the final of the Champions League last season and have made a statement in the transfer market with the signing of Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso.

Tottenham come here after a  shocking 1-0 loss to Newcastle at home last time out and they would be keen to get back to winning ways here.

Harry Kane has scored 9 times in as many games against the Gunners and 6 of the last 7 games between these sides have ended in under 2.5 goals.

Bookmakers have priced Arsenal up as slight favourites to come out on top in this game however the odds are close and Tottenham are priced up competitively.

Goal markets point to a high-scoring game as over 2.5 goals is currently trading odds-on prior to kick-off while Harry Kane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are vying for favourtism in the first goalscorer market.
